Main Features
The Heltec Wireless Tracker is an ESP32-S3 based LoRa and GNSS development kit designed for
Meshtastic, LoRaWAN and custom GPS tracking projects. With an integrated SX1262 LoRa radio, UC6580 GNSS
chipset and optional LCD, it’s ideal for building compact trackers for bikes, vehicles, pets, gear and
outdoor adventures.
- ESP32-S3FN8 dual-core MCU with integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE for flexible tracking and IoT applications.
- SX1262 LoRa transceiver for long-range communication in license-free sub-GHz bands.
- UC6580 GNSS chipset with dual-frequency (L1 + L5/L2) support and multi-constellation positioning (GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, NAVIC, QZSS).
- LoRa band options: 470–510 MHz and 863–928 MHz (variant dependent).
- Onboard 0.96″ LCD (160 × 80) for status, debug info and GPS / mesh data (available on screen variants).
- USB-C interface with onboard power regulation, ESD protection, short-circuit protection and RF shielding.
- SH1.25–2 lithium battery connector with integrated charge and discharge management, overcharge protection and automatic USB/battery switching.
- Onboard 2.4 GHz spring antenna for Wi-Fi/Bluetooth plus IPEX (U.FL) connectors for external LoRa and GNSS antennas.
- Low-power design suitable for mobile trackers, sensor nodes and Meshtastic routing nodes.
- Compatible with Arduino, Meshtastic and Heltec’s ESP32 development framework.
Wireless Tracker – GPS-Enabled Meshtastic Node
Wireless Tracker combines an ESP32-S3, SX1262 LoRa radio and UC6580 GNSS into a compact board that can
determine its position and share it over LoRa. It is widely used in the Meshtastic community as a mobile
node for location sharing, route tracking and off-grid communication.
Typical applications include bike and scooter tracking, vehicle and asset monitoring, outdoor sports,
pet or livestock tracking and experimental IoT projects where both GNSS and long-range LoRa are required.
With USB-C, onboard battery management and an optional LCD, it’s ready to drop into prototypes or complete systems.
